Metro Moneywise Credit Union’s (MMCU) first ever Chief Executive, Ciara Davies is making important strides in her first few months in the Rochdale-based credit union.
After serving nearby Manchester Credit Union for 10 years as a voluntary board member, Ciara Davies recently secured her first CEO role in the sector and leads an all-female team that wants to grow the organisation over the next few years.
One of Ciara’s first major ambitions as CEO is to implement a digital transformation of the credit union’s services and hopes to, “redesigning our processes so they are more streamlined and make it as easy as possible for new and existing members to engage with the credit union”.
The credit union also unveiled a fresh new logo to coincide with Ciara’s appointment at the helm of the organisation. The new logo represents a more modern and fresh image for the future of the credit union. In a recent member newsletter for members Ciara said: “I want to ensure our members remain at the heart of what we do, so we have used members’ feedback to define our purpose, and this is embodied in our brand new logo”.
Ciara has recently been selected from 116 applicants onto the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO), ‘Jane Slowey memorial membership programme’.
The two-year programme provides full ACEVO membership, a mentor, and learning, networking and training opportunities covering all aspects of the CEO and senior leadership role. The sessions are designed to strengthen your leadership skills and expertise.
Ciara said: “I am looking forward to meeting others in my position and sharing our stories as well as learning from other more experiences CEOs”.
